Text

Hungary is expected to seek extradition of the men which may take several weeks.

Austrian police late on Sunday arrested two men suspected of stabbing to death Romanian handball player Marian Cozma outside a nightclub in Hungary, Hungarian police said on Monday.

"The two suspects fled Hungary and were arrested in Austria by Austrian police and remain in Austrian police custody," police spokeswoman Piroska Varadi told Reuters. "A third suspect is still at large," she added.

Hungary is expected to seek extradition of the men which may take several weeks.

Cozma, 26, a Romanian international player who played in Hungary for MKB Veszprem was stabbed in the heart early on Sunday in an attack in which two other players -- Croatian goalkeeper Ivan Pesic, 19, and 22-year-old Zarko Sesum of Serbia -- were severely wounded.

Police originally sought only two suspects but issued an arrest warrant for a third suspect late on Sunday.

Police said Sandor Raffael and Gyozo N., whose full name was not disclosed, were arrested in Austria while Ivan Sztojka was still at large.
