Tim Kretschmer 17-year-old youth who killed 15 persons a few days ago near Stuttgart, supposedly broke off treatment at a nearby institution, where he shot the doorman, one of his 15 victims.

Kretschmer was supposed to have attended therapy sessions at the Winnenden psychiatric clinic, but suddenly broke off the treatment, the Times writes. From April until September last year, he visited a psychiatric clinic in Weissenhoff five times, before he was transferred to Winnenden.

It turned out that 17-year-old Tim battled depression and further investigation might show how much this affected the motives of his brutal killer rampage. Furthermore, this information casts new light on Tim`s youth, testimonies of his teachers, acquaintances and friends.

Tim`s acquaintances said he was a good, quiet young man and nobody could have guessed he would snap and go on a killing spree. Even a Croat, 34-year-old Marko Habijanec, who was Tim`s table tennis trainer while he was on a summer holiday with his parents in Porec, Croatia, told 24sata that he was a pleasant young man who was always prepared to help his teammates. Still, Habijanec said that Tim was a bad looser, frequently tossed racquets and cried.

Violence on computer, gun at home

The police stated that possible motives of the shooting were violent “shooting” computer games, which Tim spent a lot of time playing and he supposedly warned about his massacre intentions at an online chat.

A large amount of firearms Tim`s father had at home made it easy for him to act out his intentions. Although he kept his weapon at a safety box, he also had a gun, a Beretta, in an unlocked drawer, which Tim took.

Kretschmer`s father supposedly has a license for his weapons, and will most likely not be facing a lawsuit, but the massacre which shocked Germany has stirred loud criticism that the law on weapons is too liberal.

The British times also reports statements of those who found themselves at the school during the shooting. Certain German schools have codes for various threats which might endanger the pupils and the staff. They are announced over the intercom to warn the staff. The code which the headmaster said was `Frau Koma is coming’.

I didn’t know what it meant but the teacher did and they locked the classroom door – one of the pupils said, who was inside the school at the time of the attack. The code was also used in nearby schools, but everything happened too fast at the Albertville school, where the killer rampaged.
