Rehn was due to end a three-day visit to the western Balkans in Bosnia, where he was scheduled to address parliament, but was unable to do so after losing his voice due to flu, the official said. "He was unable to speak," she said.
The official said it was not H1N1 flu.
Rehn had visited Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia, where he talked to leaders about the remaining conditions for visa liberalisation and European integration.
