The Arab League said on Wednesday it would send a delegation to the United Nations Security Council to ask for a delay in implementing an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.
"(The Arab League) will send a high level delegation to the Security Council to delay the proceedings taken by the court," the group said in a statement carried on Egypt state news agency MENA.
The League, which includes Sudan, said it "stressed its solidarity with Sudan in confronting any plans targeting its sovereignty, stability, and unity".
