Mirko Filipovic Cro Cop is again in full swing in the MMA, but he is not the only one. After things calmed down when he left UFC, reporter Keivin Iole appeared who compiled the list of best knock outs in history, together with colelagues Dave Doyle and Dave Meltzer. Mirko`s KO is the best in the world!
Ufortunately, when we say Mirko`s, we are not talking about one of his many punches, but the one that knocked him out when he fought gonzaga. Who could forget that knock out?
BEST KOs
- Gabriel Gonzaga - Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, UFC 70, Manchester, England, April 21, 2007
- Rashad Evans - Chuck Liddell, UFC 88, Atlanta, September 6, 2008
- Tank Abbott - John Matua, UFC 6, Casper, July 14, 1995
This was the first test for Filipovic inside the cage, while on the other side was the giant jiu jitsu master Gabriel Gonzaga, Brazilian who kept reminding us of the Gracie brothers.
From the start of the fight, Gonzaga was dominant over Mirko. He destroyed him with elbows and Cro Cop was not prepared for this (they are banned inside the ring), which completely dazed him. Some 30 seconds before the end of the round, he had the opportunity of standing up, welcoming the end and calming down.
Still, evidently shook up, he could not longer keep track of what was going on. Gonzaga tricked him with a high kick behind the ear. Mirko Filipovic fell down and at the same time, his right foot twisted to such extend that people could not believe it. This fall is the reason why Gonzaga`s knock out was declared best ever.
