According to the English media, the new flu variant H1N1, the so-called swine flu, is spreading in Wimbledon and several players have contracted it.
After swine flu was suspected, several ballkids were dismissed and the illness was confirmed in three players: Slovaks Michal Mertinko and Filip Polasek and American Travis Parott.
Mertinak folded out of the second round of mixed doubles, while Polasek and Parott were knocked out in the second round of doubles. The swine flu outbreak has concerned the players who are still in London.
