Croatia’s Maric Cilic had no problem beating France’s Florent Serra 6:2, 7:5, thus managing to go through to the third round of the ATP tournament. Cilic had terrific support from the stands that were only half-full.
The match lasted for an hour and 20 minutes. Cilic had 13 aces, while Serra had only one.
Cilic took away serves three times and lost one
Florent had the first serve in the match and allowed Marin Cilic to score only one point. In his first game Cilic played without any mistakes and equalised the result. After that he managed to take the French player’s serve and was in the lead 2:1.
Serra could have stayed at only one game in the first set, but Cilic failed to use the equal result and made two mistakes. The set ended with a result of 6:2.
Serra had the first serve in the second set and that is where small troubles began for Marin. He began to make mistakes and Serra used that to equalise the score to 3:3.
When the result was 5:5, Marin managed to use a break point and took the lead with 6:5. Cilic did not have any trouble with his serve and easily beat the Frenchman with a final score of 7:5.
