Denver Nuggets' All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony has been suspended for one game for an "in-game transgression", the team said.
The Denver Post, citing sources, said Anthony was suspended by the team for refusing to come out of Sunday's game at Indiana.
"There is a code of conduct that we take very seriously, especially from a leader and co-captain," Nuggets Vice President of Player Personnel Rex Chapman said in a statement.
"Carmelo knows this and regrets what happened. He is a very competitive person and made a poor decision in the heat of the moment.
"We look forward to having him back on Thursday and will have no further comment at this time."
Anthony, a six-year NBA veteran, is Denver's leading scorer averaging 21.6 points per game this season. He will sit out Tuesday's game at Detroit.
