The most famous Croatian policeman and promoter of Croatia in Japan, Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic, has incurred in problems just before his fight against Jerome LeBanner to be held in Saitama on June 16 at the Saitama Arena.
Mirko was seen in a fitness centre in Zagreb with a bandage on his leg, and everyone thought it was a plaster. This was a big shock in the preparation for the show, but Filipovic’s manager, Zvonimir Lucic, made all fears fade away.
- Mirko Cro Cop is not wearing a plaster around his leg, but it is some kind of brace he is wearing for prevention as he stretched his muscles a little. Trainings have not been called off, and it is normal – said Zvonimir Lucic for Javno.
During the interview we found out that the training is proceeding very well, and this was the only thing that caused slight problems.
- We are going to Japan to fight, it is nothing serious. This is just for prevention, we are going to Japan to fight Jerom LeBanner.
Mirko Filipovic’s debut in the Japanese organization Dream was marked by a victory against Mizun by knockout in the first round.
In the MMA, Jerom LeBanner has recorded three victories, a draw, and a defeat. Them two have already fought on October 3, 1996, when Mirko won on the jury’s decision, and the fight was just spectacular.
