UEFA has named the best team of the EURO competition. Croat Luka Modric was featured, while Spaniard Xavi was named best player.
Luka Modric is the second Croatian player, after Davor Suker, to be included in the best EURO championship team. A 9-man jury, consisting of experts, named Xavi Hernandez the best player of the tournament. The Barcelona player was awarded for his excellent play in five matches, dictating the pace from middle ground. Apart from the best player, the best team was named, which included Croatian game creator Luka Modric, along with nine Spaniards, four Russians, three Germans, two Dutchmen, two Portuguesemen, an Italian and a Turk.

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Iker Casillas (Spain), Edwin van der Sar (The Netherlands).
Defenders: Bosingwa (Portugal), Philipp Lahm (Germany), Carlos Marchena (Spain), Pepe (Portugal), Carles Puyol (Spain), Yuri Zhirkov (Russia).
Midfielders: Hamit Altıntop ( Turkey ), Luka Modric (Croatia), Marcos Senna (Spain), Xavi Hernández (Span), Konstantin Zyryanov (Russia), Michael Ballack (Germany), Cesc Fàbregas (Spain), Andrés Iniesta (Spain), Lukas Podolski (Germany), Wesley Sneijder (The Netherlands).
