Drvs Gives Champion Title Away to Green

Text

Croatian boxer Stipe Drvis did not manage to defend his world champion title in the middleweight category in the match against Danny Green.

Exactly as in the headline, Stipe Drvis gave his title of world boxing champion to Green. All the stories about the end of his career turned out to be true after all because, how to explain that Drvis performed against the Australian in such way the audience of Perth could see.

From the match’s very beginning it was visible that there was only possible winner, and that was Australian David Greeb, AKA Green Monster. The Aussie started aggressively from the first gong. Drvis in some moments save his head thanks to his clear abilities in dogging at a very high speed, he managed to go through the match till the very end, that is till the 12th round, when Green gained victory becoming the new world champion with the jury’s unanimous decision.

Almost all 12 rounds went through identically. Stipe danced around the ring, while Green struggling jumped forwards aiming at the knock out. Two different boxing schooled faced each other in this match. Drvis, a man who was never knocked out in his career, with a brilliant defensive technique, and Danny Green, a dangerous know outer from Australia, who won 22 matches out of 24 by K.O.

No wonder then if the match developed exactly in this direction. Stipe avoided well all the attacks, but unfortunately Green managed to set one or to punches in every round aiming at gaining victory as soon as possible. What was a bit sad was the fact that Stipe not even then tried to attack. He mainly danced around his adversary avoiding the combat. In one moment the Japanese referee told his that he had to start fighting and not running away around the ring. All this influenced the audience, that unanimously were keen on the host boxer. All those who bought the tickets could not be satisfied with the performance of the two boxers. Drvis only aimed at concluding the fight without being knocked out by the Aussie, while Green in one moment gave up from any risky attempt and calmly led the match till the end.

The Aussie’s victory was totally deserved, and maybe we can argue Stipe for not attempting something more, because, we saw it, he could have. In the 11th round he easily found his way to Green’s head and hit him badly. The main reason for Stipe’s bad performance maybe has to be seen in his lack of will, because we always had the chance to see this contempt in him, which led him to winning the world title. Obviously this title was the final goal for the Croatian boxer who now has 34 years on his back and wants to use his time for other things.
