Bryant Becomes Youngest To Reach 23,000 Points

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant became the youngest player to score 23,000 points in the NBA when he had 34 in a 105-98 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Bryant, who is 30 years, 171 days old, reached the milestone when he sank a free throw with 5:13 remaining in the second quarter. Wilt Chamberlain was previously the youngest, at 30 years, 176 days.

"You know whenever you talk history of the game it's always a tremendous honour," Bryant told reporters.

Tennis - Australia will host Switzerland in the Fed Cup World Group II play-offs in April, Tennis Australia said.

Australia's Jelena Dokic, Sam Stosur, Casey Dellacqua and Rennae Stubbs trounced New Zealand 3-0 in the Asia/Oceania playoffs last week to set up the April 25-26 clash.

Australia beat Switzerland 5-0 the last time they met, in the World Group playoffs at Chavannes-de-Bogis in 2006.
