Everyone who wears Crocs sandals has been warned about injuries on the escalator, now they were banned in hospitals.

As the media reported last year that Japanese authorities have warned that you can stay glued to the escalator if you wear Crocs sandals, the American footwear strikes again. Wien.orf web site announced that Crocs sandals have become banned shoes at operating theatres, intensive care units and x-ray rooms in Vienna.

According to director of technical services Peter Wölfie, research has shown that footwear made from foam, which was crated by three friends while cruising in the Caribbean, produces vast amounts of static electricity, which is why it can cause disturbances on hospital machines. The rubber mules have also been banned in hospitals of Swedish Blekinge province and in Switzerland.

Crocs also symbolise “fashion crime”. Times named them most non-elegant shoes in the world, while web site I hate Crocs dot com does it banal best to fight the Canadian mules – they even made a video about Judgment Day which came for the Crocs (the video is attached above). Individuals on the site state they hate the shoes because American President George Bush wears them.

On the other hand, according to ergonomic expert Kevin Costello and his research, it appears that Crocs have significant advantage over other footwear: they alleviate fatigue, they are light, easy to put on and take off, easy to clean, do not cause muscle strain or pain in feet while standing or walking.
