VIDEO: Autumn Collections at Fashion Rio Show

Young designers displayed their collections for autumn 2009 at high, summer temperatures in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro. While the audience in Rio de Janeiro sweated from heat, winter ruled the catwalks. 

Leather dresses, woollen coats, knitted dresses and very long sweaters dominated the catwalk.

Lately, the fashion industry has had a spurt, especially in the textile technology. Since 2002, exports have grown have five percent every year and in 2008, annual profits from fashion was 185 million dollars. Although there is a global crisis, local designers are working full force, not heeding the financial situation.
