Text

Michelin’s 2010 guide for restaurants reports that Tokyo has the highest number of restaurants with three stars.

According to the number of restaurants that received three stars in Michelin’s guide for restaurants, Paris is no longer a culinary capital of the world.

Tuesday’s edition of Le Point said that, according to the Michelin’s 2010 guide for restaurants, Tokyo has the highest number of three-star restaurants. He has 11 of them, one more than the former record holder, Paris.

- We give the stars where we find them, and Tokyo is unusually rich in its culinary market - said Jean-Luc Naret, director of Michelin guides.

But he added that Tokyo has four times more restaurants than Paris. Tokyo has 160 thousand of them and Paris ‘only’ 40 thousand.
