Filippa Hamilton, model, whose image was bizarrely thinned down during retouching process raised discrimination charges against Ralph Lauren because, she claims, they fired her because she was too fat.
- They fired me and said that I was too fat - said 23-year-old Filippa.
- They told me that I do not fit their style because I became too big. I worked for them since I was 15, they were like a family to me. This made their reaction even more hurtful - said Filippa.
Filippa said that they fired her back in April, before her ‘photoshopped’ images appeared in Ralp Lauren’s ads.
- I saw pictures of that extremely thin girl later. I saw my face on the body that wasn’t mine. I am very sad. This image shows that Ralph Lauren wants to promote this look, a look that’s wrong and unhealthy. It is a bad example. When young girls see this picture, they will think that figure like that is something normal, but it actually isn’t - she explained.
Fashion house Ralph Lauren, denied Fillipa’s allegations and explaned that cooperation was terminated because of her inability to meet contract's obligations, says the Daily Mail.
