Athlete Jelena Subotic won in the high-heels race. Her motivation was money and she borrowed high heels from her friend.
An event that attracted the attention of a large number of residents of Belgrade was a “stiletto race” organised by Cosmopolitan magazine. Athlete Jelena Subotic won the race and a 3,000 euros worth coupon. She ran the 80 metres track in only 12.7 seconds.
- I am glad I won. My motive to participate was the award, of course. I did not have any special preparations for the race and I do not even wear high heels. Today I borrowed a pair from my friend – Jelena said.
Along with the winner, the spectators also cheered for Milanka Mijalkovic, who is 58 years old and decided to race in high heels. The rules were quite strict. More than 100 participants had to wear high heels not wider than two and not lower than eight centimetres. They also had to carry a copy of Cosmopolitan and a can during the race, Blic online reported.
