Dita Von Teese showed the delights of burlesque art at a cabaret, accompanied by dancers.

Heather Sweet, today known as burlesque queen Dita Von Teese, has revealed the delights of Reuters-.--.-Performers are seen on stage during a rehearsal at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris on January 28, 2009. sensual dancing at the Paris Crazy Horse cabaret. Dita`s artistic striptease act was supported by nude dancers, clothed only in the strobe light. Late Alain Bernardin opened the cult Parisian club, where artists like Madonna and Jean-Paul Gaultier seek their inspiration, turning striptease acts into magic with the help of light effects and costumes, while the dancers are co-ordinated according to their height, built, even breast size. You can see the queen of glamour on stage in the attached photo gallery: Dita Von Teese At The Crazy Horse.

- I feel that Paris is a place that still appreciates its showgirls – Dita told Reuters, before her two-week series of shows at the legendary Crazy Horse.

Not about nudity, but style

Dita`s retro ideology, which she nurtures ever so tenderly, was implemented by her mother who was a fan of the Hollywood golden era. She danced ballet as a child and got her first corset at that time.

Dita studies costume history and worked as a stylist for the film industry, so her expertise in the fashion area is never questioned.

As a 19-yer-old, disappointed with the lack of originality showgirls displayed. She started working at a local strip club, creating a look inspired by vintage and creative performance, which left the customers confused and fascinated. With her creative venture, the burlesque queen denies the existence of a line between art, fashion, music, nudity and setting.

This was the start of her enviable and shining career as a glamour and fetish model, thanking the elegance of her pin-up and retro look, evolved from the inspiration of Bettie Page.

- Not even hell is high enough for Dita Von Teese. She has the style of a bird of paradise – shoe designer Christian Louboutin said.

Style queen without stylist

Superiority of this woman is evident from her film commissions in “'Romancing Sara'', ''Matter of Trust Pin Ups 2 and Decadence'', ''The Death of Salvador Dali'', ''Saint Francis and ''The Boom Boom Room'', which is expected in cinemas this year. She acts in videos of famous musicians and is the cover face of many fashion campaigns.

The fashion industry has embraced Dita over the past few years, and was delighted to see her retro look elegance as she was included on the lists of best-dressed women in the world. Regardless of the fact that she remained true to her style, Dita is carefully watching fashion trends from the front row and is a regular at Moschino and Marc Jacobs fashion shows, whose creations she often wears. She wore fashion shows of Richie Rich, Gianbattist Valli, Moschino, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Louis Vuitton etc.

Von Teese never used the help of a stylist:

- I once met with a stylist. He took my 1940s shoes and told me: `this would look cute with jeans`. I told myself `you`ve no business here` -Reuters-.--.-Burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese performs her number `Le Bain Noir` (Black Bath), with a creation by fashion designer Elie Saab, during a rehearsal for her show at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris on January 28, 2009.

She does her own male-up and dies her natural blonde hair black at home.

Stefano Pilati of Yves Saint Lauren said her beauty was stunning, with a fantastic dress sense, which she gives personality.

Beauty is relative: you can subsequently create what you were not born with

Her porcelain face decorated the campaigns of many cosmetic homes and the covers of fashion magazines like Vanity Fair, Vogue and Elle.

- I`m more drawn to glamour than natural beauty. Young Marilyn Monroe was a beautiful girl in a sea of beautiful girls. Then she died her hair, put on a pair of false eyelashes and she became special. You can create what you were not born with – the burlesque artist said.

Dita said she had an aunt named Opal who used to wear green eye shadow, would raw beauty marks on her face and had fiery red hair. She had a cigarette holder and cursed like a sailor. Most people though she was vulgar, but Dita wanted to be just like her when she grows up.

- I`ll be having fun wearing a thong in a champagne glass at 60 – the burlesque queen concluded.
