Dayana Mendoza’s hard work in modelling really gave fruits – she gained the crown of Miss Universe.
- Being a model is really great. You show what is new in fashion and you wear gorgeous dresses. As Miss Venezuela and Miss Universe you need to travel the world, spend time with different people and show yourself in different places, this is what I have always wanted – said 22-year-old Dayana.
After many years of learning the catwalk and three languages, Mendoza’s hard work finally gave fruits. After conquering the audience’s attention, she won the Miss Universe contest.
- I have been in modelling since I was fifteen, I have travelled the whole world, but I felt I needed something more – said Mendoza.
After she won, she stated that she is still with her feet on the ground, and that she has the feeling she is floating on her own emotions.
Mendoza is the fifth Miss Universe from Venezuela where the beauty contest is like a national sport.
She also stated that she never had to be on a diet or to be careful to what she ate. She always had a fast metabolism, which she inherited from her mother who she thanks a lot for it.
- I just drank a lot of water, went to the gym and had healthy food – said Mendoza.
In regards to plastic surgery, which is very frequent in Venezuela, she said that it is a personal decision of each person, and that anyone who is dissatisfied about something about them has to do.
- The only problem is when you do not resemble yourself anymore after – she said.
When asked whether she had surgery herself before the contest, she said that it would be like asking a lady her age.
