NEVER ENOUGH CAUTION

After drugs are put in the victim’s drink, the rapist will offer to take them home. In the morning they will not remember anything.
The most common opinion is that rape is something that occur to somebody else, in dark streets, and dark places, girls who hang out with ‘suspicious’ company. Unfortunately, this is not the case most of the time. Violent people and rapists are often people you know, friends and intimate partners of the victim.
The so called rape drugs are being used more and more often. The drugs work by making the person under the influence of them lose their ability of decision making and have reduce motor skills. This means that the person is incapable of any sort of self defence and in that psychological state they will not even try to defend themselves. Most often they feel a sensation of euphoria or hysteria, nervousness, the need to socialise, dizziness, hallucinations, throwing up, confusion, speech and motor disruptions.
The drug is especially dangerous when combined with alcohol, because a loss in memory occurs, which benefits the rapist. The victim does not remember what happened to her, and according to that, it is much harder to prove that rape really occurred. After it is consumed, the drugs starts to work in around 30 minutes time, and its effect will culminate in about two hours time. In the case of an overdose, death is possible, writes Intimate Medicine.
Bad scenario…
Rapists most often use rohypnol, ketamin or GHB for their intentions.
The perpetrators slip one of the mentioned drugs into the victims drink, and when the girl slowly starts to lose control over herself, they kindly offer to take them home. The surrounding people do not notice what is happening, because the victim only shows signs of drunkenness. It is worrying that the victim will not remember anything after waking up. This is the main reason why most of the perpetrators do not see justice.
How to avoid rape under the influence of drugs?
Be attentive and careful! Do not accept drinks from somebody that you do not know long enough and well, and who you do not trust. If you do accept a drink, ask them to bring it to you in a closed glass bottle or can, and you open it yourself. Never leave your drink unattended, even when you go to the bathroom. Tell your friends about the effects of such drugs and warn them about what goes on, especially when somebody who has not had a lot to drink shows signs of drunkenness. If you think that you have been a victim of rape under the influence of drugs, immediately contact the responsible authorities who can ask for the security camera recordings from the bar, which might reveal the perpetrator.
