Cuban speleologists discovered fossil remains of giant crocodiles and dugongs that are 20 million years old.
Vice-president of the Cuban Speleological Society Alejandro Romero says that the remains date back from the Miocene period.
The fossils were discovered 30 metres below a slope in a cave, 350 km east of Havana.
Crocodiles originate from a period that ended 65 million years ago, while dugongs are mammals that still live in tropical areas.
