Croatian camps have recorded a slight 2 to 4 percent drop in overnight stays with 7.2 million overnight stays, compared to last year. The results match the level of 2007, which was declared a good year, Croatian Camping Union announces (KUH). It is expected that with favourable weather in August, the season could be closed without big losses.

The islands of Kvarner are crawling with campers this year, including Krk, Cres and Losinj, all camps recording at least a 5-percent rise.

The trend in Dalmatia continues, where several large unbecoming camps have been transformed into quality camps after a lot of investment, thanks to which some have recorded great results, up to 25 percent, Hina Croatian news agency reports.

Camps in central and North Dalmatia and more struck by the credit crunch because the campers choose closer destinations this year in order to cut back their expenses, the KUH pointed out.
