It is decided that the Zagrebgradnja company is responsible for contamination water in Vrbani III, as well as the water supply company. After one and a half months of investigation and a week of specialized controls of the water pipes and conducts, it has been established that the investing company Zagrebgradnja is responsible for the contaminated water in the Zagreb neighbourhood of Vrbani III, as well as the water supply and drainage company, Jutarnji list writes.
Although a publication of the report and the results of the expertise is announced for tomorrow, Jutarnji list found out the results off record from a source in the city crisis headquarters. According to them, the investor and Zagreb's Holding, the company in charge for the security of the water pipes and conducts construction, will share responsibility.
The crisis headquarters officials said that the results and the opinion of expert Ivan Ozanic must be analysed by the court in order to be given validity, and only after that the state would be able to file criminal charges against companies or persons, Jutarnji list writes
Their source claims that everybody should know who the cuplrits for the contaminated water are, but since there are still no given answers, they demand that the employees of the water supply
company, hygienic inspections, the Institute of Public Heatlh and so on daily wash the pipes and collect samples.
Tihomir Majic, acting director of the Institute of Public Health of Zagreb (ZZJZ) and member of the crisis headquarters told Jutarnji list that, despite the former claim that the water from the manholes did not contain mineral oils, the last washing of the pipes from manholes was carried out because taps were set up within the manholes and that it was necessary to clean them. Majic did not give a specific answer to the question concerning to what parts of the city the contaminated water is limited, but he said that the ZZJZ is open to all citizens and that they can request for a sample of the water to be tested.
