ZAGREB, CROATIA – The Forensic and Criminology Institute in Zagreb has completed the identification of mortal remains that were found after the Cessna plane crashed on Mount Velebit. The forensic scientists managed to identify three bodies, so the remains of Gerd Govejsek, born in 1946, were not there to identify, the police reported on Saturday.

The Cessna carried four crew members; Gerd Govejsek, 63, Walter Aleksandar, 49. Miljenko Bartolic, 61 and Zvonko Kelek, 68, who were all experienced pilots with licences to fly planes.

So, members of the special police forces will continue their search at the site of the crash. Currently they are preparing the way, that is, breaking up the ice, so the search can begin, police directorate head Krunoslav Borovec said in the statement.

The Cessna aircraft crashed on February 5 on the north side of Mount Velebit, near the Vagan Summit. The plane was lifted off from Zagreb towards Zadar. The remains of the plane were found on February 10.
