The presidential candidates Andrija Hebrang, Ivo Josipović Vesna Pusić and Vesna Škare-Ožbolt participated on Saturday in the round table organized during the 19th Zagreb Stock Market conference in Split hotel Le Meridien Lav. Numerous questiones were raised, while the responses of Andrije Hebranga strongly reverberated in the public. Or in other word his very honesty in providing of those responses.

Questioned about who's responsible for the present reluctance to the economic crisis, either Croatian National Bank governor Željko Rohatinski or the Government, Hebrang told the Government greatly contributed to the issue - by - heading toward the zero deficit. - Nevertheless he emphasized that the CNB is not equally measured as the Government is. He said though, that the measures provided by Željko Rohatinski "are showing results", writes Dnevnik.hr.

Pusić and Škare-Ožbolt switched the overbalance to CNB. Hebrang continued by asserting that - Everyone knew the first bidding won't succeed -, and that if he's the one to buy it, even he wouldn't buy it out. - He emphasized that the state nevertheless pursued with the documents' buy-out for it was predeterminied by the EU. Pusić responded no one's going to open up that chapter ever again.

- Fairytales aiming at the European Union -

As for the shipyards' situation, Josipović asserted that's nothing but a fairytale played out before the eyes of the European Union, and the state should bestow the workers anyhow. In fact, even Pusić said it's a sheer lie that following the privatisation a number of workers won't lose their jobs, while Škare-Ožbolt said that - shipyards just won't make it until the second round of privatisation. - Pusić emphasized that there's no positive outcome for all of the shipyards comprised by the privatisation.

Regarding the public administration employees surplus issue, Pusić said it's 50 percent, while Škare Ožbolt says 30 percent of surplus. Josipović hasn't stated any percentages, saying that "the utter lack of education and the corruption issues among the parts of public administration are far greater problems -, while Hebrang claims that the - people will still try to shelter themselves in the public administration - as long as there are no vacancies in the economy.
