ZAGREB, CROATIA –
- Buyers should not fear that they would be living with the Roma people at the Sopnica settlement. The important thing is to know will they, because the citizens are afraid of buying apartments there because of this – Zdravko Juc, director of the Stanogradnja company, a branch of the Zagreb Holding Company, said at the Zagreb Assembly.
The city of Zagreb promised to take care of the Roma people, who have to move out of the Plinarsko settlement as the yonder factory will be torn down. One of the options were the apartments in Sopnica Jelkovac in Sesvete. Expressing fear that the Roma people might live there, Juc asked Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic:
- Whom are you planning to give 1,400 city apartments in Sesvete? –
Bandic: Roma people won`t go to Sesvete
However, as Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic comforted Juc, Roma people of the Plinarsko settlement will not go to Sesvete.
- Roma people are the citizens of Zagreb, don`t underestimate them, they won`t go to Sesvete, they told me this was too far for them. Until an alternative solution is found, Roma people of the Plinarsko settlement won`t go anywhere – Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic said at the Assembly.
- Many people will go on a pilgrimage to Plinarsko settlement before the elections. I put concrete there on the roads, so you can even come in high heels! – Bandic told the Assembly.
Furthermore, members of the City Assembly were interested in the criteria for attaining the city apartments in Sopnica, which will be discussed at the sitting.
