During his stay in Paris, Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader announced that Croatia would continue with infrastructure project which are especially important in these crisis times.
- We continue with infrastructure projects which are especially important in these crisis times and everyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. We invited French companies to get involved in these projects – Sanader said after a meeting at the French Association of Entrepreneurs (MEDEF), with many French and Croatian economists taking part.
MEDEF president Francois Perigot said after the meeting that collaboration between Croatian and French business community is growing more solid and that France has become the third investor in Croatia-
Croatian PM said that many French companies have expressed an interest in Croatia.
- This is surely big news. There is an interest and we discussed several projects which we find very interesting, especially the concession of Zagreb Airport or the public-private partnership, which the French are interested in – Sanader said.
“I will fight against raising interest rates”
Sanader opposed proposals of cutting back salaries, pensions and social benefits.
- There is a discussion at home, which has missed its goal, the ones who proposed it. I will openly say, we had a sitting of the Economic Council, where various proposals were presented and we accepted 60 percent of the working group`s proposals, and what we rejected is cutting back salaries pensions and social benefits – Sanader said.
The PM once again invited banks not to raise interest rates in these times.
- When it comes to banks, I have to say that they have made outstanding profit in the past few years and it is time, during this crisis, to pay back the citizens what they earned. I oppose and will oppose with all instruments which are available to me, so that banks to not raise interest rates – Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader concluded.
