ZAGREB, CROATIA – Unforgettable party anent the second birthday of Javno news site at Zagreb`s Saloon club lasted until the early morning hours. Relaxed atmosphere and performances by TBF and Suicide Bar, with our revues editor Antonija Zbiljski on the bass, entertained many famous faces of the Croatian political and showbiz scene.

While the celebs danced and spread gossip, which is the reason why they often visit our news site, as they put it, the first figures of the city`s political scene got down to somewhat more serious topics – the local elections.

Karaoke heats things up at Saloon club

President of the Zagreb branch of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Jasen Mesic had a good time, but instead of standard political themes, he chose love topic and revealed that we might be hearing wedding bells soon. We did not manage to find out who the love of his heart is, but things are quite serious, Mesic claims. Apart from falling in love, rowing in his spare time and visiting Javno news site, the HDZ member revealed another interesting fact from his life:

- I have quit smoking for three weeks now, this is why I decided to start rowing not to ruin my figure – Mesic said.

The karaoke, which additionally improved the mood, delighted Croatian People`s Party (HNS) member Alenka Kosisa Cicin-Sain most, who wished to get up on the stage. However, she changed her mind and let other guest have a go. Instead of singing, Alenka Kosisa Cicin-Sain admitted she logs on to Javno.com every day to keep up with current affairs, in Zagreb, as well as in Croatia.

Apart from politicians, the social elite had fun at Javno`s second birthday, including singer Sandi Cenov, who spent the night accompanied by the frontman of the Baruni group Danijel Banic. However, what impressed him the most were the karaoke, because he remembered his 1995 Dora song contest when he performed with our versatile photographer Mario Cuzic.

Miss and Mister Scandal, Aleksandra Grdic and Dino Bubicic, whose statements regularly fill our gossip columns, said they had a good time at the party. However, the star of the evening was surely Simona Gotovac, who got to know what it feels like being a hostess. Although she did have stage fright, Simonica courageously ventured out. Of course, with the support of her husband Ante Gotovac.
