


ZAGREB, CROATIA – President of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebic said on Friday morning that it is up to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic when he the Parliament would decide on the vote of confidence to the new cabinet, i.e. when he will appoint Jadranka Kosor prime minister.
- If this decision [about the term holder] is made today, then we will discuss it, but if it is not made today, we will postpone it – Bebic told MP Damir Kajin, who asked at the start of the Parliamentary session about the start of the vote of confidence.
Bebic pointed out that President Mesic accepted a Parliamentary note on Thursday which accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, together with 83 MPs` signatures, supporting Jadranka Kosor as the new premier.
- It is up to the President of the Republic, I asked him to cut the deadline for appointing a new cabinet short, because it is in everyone`s interest for the cabinet to start functioning as soon as possible – he pointed out.
The Croatian Parliament continued its sitting with the discussion on the annual financial report of the Croatian Bank of Renewal and Development for 2008.
