Milan Bandic, the Mayor of Zagreb, participated in today’s Zagreb marathon where he said that he didn't think of joining the presidential race. Milan Bandic was actually expected to announce his presidential nomination today, but this did not happen, Vecernji List writes.
Bandic told reporters that he still needs to bring the final decision and how he needs the time to ‘sleep it over’. He also said that he ‘does not want to participate in the race, but how he wants to win it’.
He also said that he brought two significant decisions two months ago. First one was that he decided to prepare for today’s marathon, and the second one was that he would do series of round trips around Croatia in an attempt to see if people wanted to see him as their president. In the end, he concluded that Croats 'breathe well and have good opinions about him’.
The mayor ran in the 42 km marathon and he finished in four hours and nineteen minutes.
