ZAGREB, CROATIA – Attorney Zvonimir Hodak, father of murdered 26-year-old Ivana Hodak, received Croatian police chief Vladimir Faber at his home who reported news which make him relieved after a long time.

- Faber called round my house this morning at 8 and said the murderer was caught. A gun was found in Slogar`s possession and a ballistic team determined it was used to kill my Ivana. Slogar was fired in 1993 or in 1994 from the Jarun Sports Centre, where he worked as the doorman. He had the idea that I represented that company and its directors, but I haven`t seen him or heard of him in my life, nor have I ever represented that company – Zvonimir Hodak told Javno news site, adding that he will come to terms with all of this once it is determined if the police actually have the right person.

However, he said a load was lifted from his shoulders.

- Via your news site, I extend my apologies to Hrvoje Petrac. However, the Globus and Nacional weeklies should also apologise to Vladimir Zagorec, whom they also connected with the murder – Hodak said in the end.

Several days after the murder of his daughter Ivana, Zvonimir Hodak indirectly accused Hrvoje Petrac of the murder. He suspected Petrac was responsible for his daughter`s death and believed the most famous Croatian scapegoat had a motive for the murder, because Ivana was dating his attorney Ljubo Pavasovic Viskovic. He believed Petrac could have done it fearing that Ivana would get through to delicate information via Pavasovic. After Hodak`s statement on national television, the Petrac family issued out a release dismissing the accusations.
