ZADAR, CROATIA – Zadar doctors and epidemiologists have examined an American citizen over suspicion that she has been infected with the swine flu virus. Unofficially, the woman in question is a nurse married to a man from Zadar, who was taking care of swine flu patients in America.
Her test results will be sent for analysis at the start of next week, Zadar epidemiologist Jagoda Sarunic Gulan confirmed.
The person`s identity has not been revealed. However, it has been confirmed that the US nurse was spending her holiday in Croatia, the Vecernji list daily writes. Her family is afraid of possible infection.
Zadar General Hospital doctor has confirmed that the nurse had a headache, a blocked nose, was coughing and had a high temperature.
He also confirmed that her family members were given medicine as a precaution, given that the woman will be a possible source of infection for the next four days.
The woman denied that she has sustained the swine flu and explained that she has caught a cold after swimming in the cold sea. She also said that she was not a nurse and will be suing reporters who insinuate about the condition.
