Railway wagon factory (TZV) Gredelj delivered two modernized locomotives to Argentina’s UGOFE S.A., Gredelj announced.
Modernization, worth 2.5 million U.S. dollars, was realized in cooperation with the U.S. partner, National Railway Equipment Company (NREC).
American partner participated in the work with parts and equipment, and Gredelj performed construction and engineering, with a total value of some 600 thousand dollars.
Delivery is scheduled for the end of the week when the locomotive should be sent to the Port of Rijeka.
Expected increase in export rates
Cooperation between TZV Gredelj and NREC, which started in 2004, resulted in the delivery of four locomotives for the company RUSAL in Guinea, five locomotives for the French company TSO in Saudi Arabia, and delivery of two modernized locomotives to Argentina.
In addition to cooperation with NREC, Gredelj is currently working on locomotives, cars and circuits of railway vehicles for markets in Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Switzerland, Slovenia, Kosovo and Romania.
