On Tuesday, at about 7 A.M., firefighter’s helicopter was dispatched to the Blacacka Glava on the Island of Brac. This helicopter joined emergency units of Brac’s Fire Departmet and volunteer fire companies in an attempt to extinguish forest fires, State Protection and Rescue (DUZS) reports.

Fire in four hectares of thick pine forest in Blacacka Glava, was reported yesterday at around 4:45 p.m. Two firefighting aircrafts, as well as emergency units from Brac and Supetar, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Because of non-accessible terrain, the fire was only monitored during the night, and in the morning, the fire extinguishing continued.

The evening before, the firefighters managed to stop the fires in Sibenik-Knin County and Zadar County, DUZS reports.

 

Fire in Sonkovic, near Skradin, extinguished

Fire in the Trbounje area, near Drnis, that burned about 6.2 acres of grass and low vegetation, died out at about 7:05 pm. The fire was reported at about 2:40 p.m. and the firefighting efforts included members from the public fire departments (JVP) as well as DVD Drnis.

Around 21:25 p.m. on Monday, a fire was also extinguished in Sonkovic, near Skradin. The fire was reported at about 7:15 p.m. and it consumed 6 hectares of grass and low vegetation. The firefighting efforts involved members of the DVD from Skradin and Dubravice.

Also, on Monday night, around 7:30 p.m. the fire near Poljica was extinguished. Alert about the fire, which engulfed 4.5 hectares of low vegetation and young oaks, was received arrived around 4:15 p.m.
