ZAGREB, CROATIA – Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader announced at today’s government session that he has set up a meeting with President Stjepan Mesic, Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic and all parliamentary parties for noon Monday to discuss the possible end of Slovenia’s blockade of Croatia’s EU accession talks.
- I will inform them about the content of my talks with Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor and we will discuss about how to cease Slovenia’s blockade and secure the continuation of Croatia’s negotiations about accessing NATO and the EU. We applaud the suggestion of the European Commission, but we believe that the two commissions formed by the Slovenian and Croatian governments have to finalise their jobs with their last meeting in March and inform both governments about their work – Sanader said and reiterated that negotiations should not cease because of bilateral disputes.
