ZAGREB, CROATIA - The vice-president of the Croatian Cabinet, Damir Polancec, announced the long expected news that will delight non-protected buyers of gas, shopping mall workers and industry workers.
19 days after it began, the gas reductions have been cancelled due to higher air temperatures, which will not consume as much gas as up until now, said Polancec for the Croatian HRT television.
Polancec considers that it is good news that workers will be able to return to work, and that the economy and industry will come to life again after the cold halt.
Some reduction measures still remain in place, as the level of reductions has been lowered from level 6 to level 4. Because Croatia’s daily consumption of gas is 9 million cubic meters, and the intervention import of 2 million cubic meters, it will be necessary to wait until Moscow and Kiev open the pipes for the situation to fully return to normal.
