Young men crashed into the wall
Another weekend full of death is approaching its end. The main cause of many of the tragedies was the combination of speed and alcohol.
Two men were fatally injured around 3 a.m. in Kostanje, near Omis. Ivan Dujmovic (22) lost control of his Ford Escort and crashed into a wall. In spite of the efforts from the paramedics and firefighters, both Dujmovic and his coopasenger , Ante Bilic (19), passed away at the scene of the accident.
Their bodies were then transported to the Split Hospital Center where they will remain until the autopsy.
Rijeka Accident
This morning, at about six o'clock at the crossing of Ivo Lola Ribar Street and Sava Jugo Bujko Street in Rijeka, serious accident occurred in which one woman lost her life. Police investigation is still in the progress.
Drunk driver killed a pedestrian
In the General Virovitica Hospital, pedestrian Kata Lukcec (54) died on Saturday around 7 pm after suffering injuries sustained at a car accident in Busetina village.
The accident occurred when a 45-year-old Z.F. from the neighboring village tried to turn into a right lane, but who due to speeding, ended up running over the pedestrian in the left lane.
The car then struck a tree and the pedestrian was thrown against the fence of a family home. She was given first aid, but died in Virovitica hospital shortly thereafter. Police inspection determined that the driver of unregistered car had 1.58 BAC of alcohol in his blood. He suffered minor injuries while his coo-passenger remained in the hospital.
Hiker killed on railway tracks
Passenger train number 5101, which was traveling between Zagreb and Sisak, killed an unknown male at around 6 am this morning. The police investigation is still in the process and more information will be known after its completion.
