
Danny Boyle, the Academy Award-winning director of "Slumdog Millionaire", made good on a promise to his local social club by bringing home his Oscars and buying a round of drinks. The director returned to Radcliffe, his hometown located near Manchester, England, to celebrate winning the Oscar for Best Director.
Meanwhile, "Slumdog" star Freida Pinto was the among the "A-list" stars checking out designers Dolce and Gabbana's latest collection at a fashion show in Milan. Other actresses attending included Scarlett Johansson, Naomi Watts and Kate Hudson.
British rock band Oasis says it's "bewildered" by China's decision to cancel two concerts scheduled to take place on the mainland next month. The country revoked the group's license to perform, saying the band is unsuitable.
Iran is looking for an apology. Cultural advisors say a visiting Hollywood group should apologize for films like "The Wrestler" and "300" that officials say are insulting to Iran. The group, including Annette Bening, are meeting with Iranian film-makers to foster better relations.
