Slipknot won double at the Kerrang! awards last night (03.02.09).
Lead singer Corey Taylor - who was also co-host of the event - picked up the awards for Best Live Band and Best International Band, on behalf of the group at the event.
Dropping his trademark mask and boiler suit for a jazzy tartan golf suit, sandals and toenails painted green, Corey was ecstatic to have won.
He said: "This is incredible for us. Seriously. But, dude, by the second drink it's all good. Scott Ian, who was co-hosting with me, he said, 'after two drinks, it's all gonna be fine' so I was happy."
"I really was more nervous about doing these awards than my recent acoustic set.
"My hands were shaking about the first two or three awards, I was losing my mind. And all I had to do was read something off a piece of plastic.
"The more I drink the easier it got, lets put it that way."
Chester Bennington, lead singer with Linkin Park, was also at the show to receive the Kerrang! Classic Songwriter award.
He said: "It's always an honour to be nominated for anything. But to win it's a cool thing something entirely special.
"The Kerrang awards really sticks to its fans and its fanbase makes it special. Other awards shows don't have the same impact and you can tell the results beforehand, but this sort of thing is special, and different."
Other winners on the night included Machine Head and the Wildhearts.
